Miss Glossybox/Glossybox UK 

Now I don't subscribe to glossybox anymore as the difference in quality between one person and the next was in my regard unfair. To have a palette in one box then give another a box full of sample well... That didn't sit well with me.

However I enjoyed my miss glossybox as it was only £10 incl postage every 2 months. Plus all the contents were the same for each subscriber. Now you may think why subscribe to a box aimed at a teen market. Well honestly I like the offerings of new makeup brands for a affordable price and what they offer.

So the September/October box

Now I'm aware of skinetica as a brand and think it is good but maybe just as a point treatment and the sample is good for trial to see of it works.

I love the new Katy perry fragrance - Killer queen as it's just my sort of fruity lovely scent and reminds me a lot of my lady gaga and guerlain le petit noir robe.

Both have similar base notes, just I noticed this scent like lady gaga doesn't last a long time, but then I can smell hints  where its settled down. So I'm glad I received this perfume as I may invest in a bottle.

The BeautyUK was as always a quality affordable makeup product and brand I've come to love. The colour was certainly to my taste being a light pinky lavender, however some may not like the tinged this pout has. But compared to all the others swamping the market I think BeautyUK gives a good product with pigment and lasting colour. 

Now the only issues I have are minor and just because I've had beauty boxes a long time. I don't like nail polish at all especially red. I always get red and I was glad of the silver art polish to accompany this as it seemed like a way to get a little festive now. So not hugely impressed but they made the effort not to just fling a polish willy nilly again. 

Then the compact which was a great idea as had a album entailed of a new artist I'm assuming but being a rocker of a woman and well set in my ways. I gave this item to someone whom would appreciate it more.

The Jessie's girl pencil I'm going to do a review on as I'm not sure if this is the said and acclaimed Jessie's girl everyone's raving about in the blog world. (I'm kinda thinking this isn't but just a brand that's got the same name, different logo etc )

So I will get back to you with this item and what I find on it. 

All in all I really like the miss glossybox and it's always sold out for good reason. If you have a teen this is the perfect little set up to give them an opportunity to experience products that don't break the bank. For me its a glossybox with fairness which is what I think they should do with all the boxes. It's gotten no complaint on the site like I've seen the monthly box get and its a major reason in my eyes why this box sells out, yet they still have mountains of unsold monthly boxes to do special offers with. 

So yes I liked the contents and can't wait for the Christmas edition.

Eldora lashes are a company whom are a master of there trade, after being accepted to review 3 sets of there lashes I just was ecstatic. I will be doing a individual review of each set to show you how they look applied and also what I would use them for. I myself have only being using lashes a short time.

Believe me that's true, you may go on lash haul like I'm going to do after seeing them. 

They have a vast selection so if you haven't put lashes on, then a YouTube makeup artist can set you on your way. This is how I learnt my tips and tricks.

As it is tricky however, its like anything practice makes perfect. So the lashes I was kindly sent to review were

These lashes have a pretty thin spine (the curve part that will applies to your lid) and natural looking hair layout. They add a extra omp to my natural lashes. I found them to be comfortable and easy to apply. The glue is the kind that goes from white to blue, which helps to show you its ready to apply. I found these were easier to apply with tweezers (if your just starting get plastic eyelash holders) I am thinking of investing in a lash applicator for ease, when I purchase more lashes. Also i think it will stop the glue running into the hair if you squeese to much glue. I liked these lashes so much, as I found they looked really amazing with a natural look. As they blend to your natural lashes with no trouble at all, plus being the same length you can trim them without making the design change. 

                                                                                                                                  

 I didn't need mascara, as I personally find mascara just clumps my lashes together. I would use a clear mascara if my lashes are needing to be separated. However I've never needed to and my natural hair is very dark, so these are a two thumbs up.

 Im loving these H125 lashes and they are on my list to repurchase again for a natural look.

So these lashes as you can see have a thicker amount of hair by the spine and look softer plus almost over-lapping. They are very easy to apply and I think its because the spine is slightly larger and the spines less fiddly to handle. With any big lashes you may feel a little odd like you can see the lash in your line of sight. You can just slightly curl the tip of them too elevate this feeling which isnt unpleasant it's just distracting at times,  just takes a little bit of adjustment as its a new experience for you. 

Now with a bold eye look can be tempting but I find just a blend of a colour to the lid with then a bold lip really does set these lashes off. I used mine with a cream eyeshadow then packed on a darker colour to the V of my eye, blended together slightly. A thin layer of eyeliner and then lashes applied and curled if need be. Adding a bright lip colour will make these lashes pop, as the eye colour is not overly bold. Which keeps the balance and ensures it wont take away from the detail of the lashes. 

I prefer this balanced look , as you want them to look as natural as possible. So from head on I don't think they are that noticeable but from above you can see. 

I would defiantly recommend the B178 for a night out or special occasion. Plus when they come to the last few uses you could trim them to decorate and have for an artistic-bold look.

So these beautiful lashes I have yet to do a look book on as I have a Halloween look I'm saving these for. However they are calling me to use them, so I think I may have to do a look this week.

TheBalm cosmetics is finally over here, horrrraaaayyyyy !!! It's just amazing when a brand you see so much of being released and able to try. I have so many products I would love to try on my list that whilst the Lookfantastic sale was on, I decided to try one, then I bought one off a friend and was sent two as a surprise gift. So I have 4 products to review and show you they are well known in the USA, which makes researching so much easier.I'm in love and the hype is justified.

So the products I have to show are of course the two main powder compacts, Mia Moore lipstick and Hot mama Blusher. I love the names and play on words packaging, its my main love of our Soap and Glory range. So firstly let's jump into packaging of the compacts and blush then review them separately. 

Now I love how the Mary-Lou and Betty-Lou were made to look like pin up beauty babes, who obviously push the boundaries as being in jail means some naughty product is concealed. I like to think they are sisters and cleverly made the hair colour to show the contrast in highlight and bronzer. 

Mary-Lou is blonde and the Highlight powder which is an amazing golden blonde colour. Its highly pigmented so you only need a dab, as you have a potential to overdo it then pores become noticeable. However it can be used on the Cupid's bow, eyeshadow but its a bit to shimmery for all highlight areas of the face.

 The Betty-Lou Manizer is this most amazing bronzer that blends to a golden tan, again hugely pigmented. A dot is all you will need as the rich, buttery powder blends down to cover the cheek.

 I tried to use both together but honestly the shimmer would make you look like a 1980's glitterball. So one or the other paired with a matte product is brilliant, also the powder can be used multifunctionally. I would use Mary-Lou or Betty-Lou as eyeshadows, Betty-Lou can be used as a body shimmer for a night out also and to enhance a tan etc. Plus the compact is so pigmented I won't hit pan for a very long time.

So then we come to Hot mama blush and wow it's a stunning blush with a almost matte consistency but then blends to this lovely natural pink blush with a hint of shimmer. I like this colour as dusky rosé type blushes are nice for everyday use but can be built on for that extra pop of colour. So I will be making more purchases of the blush collection. 

So now the yummy lipstick called "Mia Moore" and my understanding is that its a play on James Bond. Just by the packaging, would you agree ? The balm girls play on words instead of being "bond girls", very cleverly done. 

So Mia Moore I expected to be a dry matte formula, as its what I've experienced with most red lipsticks. The Mia Moore is really creamy and pigmented. It's lasts the day, also as the shine goes then a light touch up with a balm is sufficent. I won't lie this lipstick is so pigmented it will leave a nice stain to the lips. So I'm really impressed with thebalm so far and debating the nude-attitude palette or The bon jovi as its just a must have for a rocker like me.

What do I think about thebalm ? Well the lipstick I think is stunning and much more manageable then a matte consistency, plus with winter setting in fast upon us and my chapped lips. If you want a red for celebrating the coming festivities then try this lovely offering. I can't say how impressed I am with all the powder compacts as they have blown me away. I do still think all three used together is shimmer overkill, personally I would pair with matte products. So they blend together better and more naturally. I'm really impressed and can't wait to add to my collection with thebalms palettes next then add to my blush collection.

Sibu Beauty maybe new to a lot of UK consumers. Made with Sea buckthorn a natural ingredient with many properties, I was kindly sent the facial cream to try. 

So it's main properties are

This light, non-greasy cream is ideal for daily use and offers a pleasing, light citrus scent. It is paraben-free and cruelty-free, and contains NO dairy, yeast, wheat, gluten, sodium or preservatives.

This nutrient-infused facial cream is ideal for daily use, with a light citrus scent and non-greasy feel. 

This cream is packaged with a simple white box embossed with the logo. Its in a frosted glass bottle but also has a lock within the pump. So no leaks when travelling. So I have Normal to Dry skin and when winter hits is when I notice this. When I read about the properties of the sea buckthorn berry I was intrigued.

So apologies for the light the weather in the UK is grim and trying to photograph glass or an box is quite a task, especially with a flash.

 Aimed towards helping all skin types by offering a day cream to help maintain healthy skin and keep fine lines at bay.  So with winter coming and I like to have a cream with me at all times so i can moisturise regularly. Hoping to gain the upper hand and moisturise my skin sufficiently, as It helps to keep a good routine.

 Then hopefully not need to much coverage. So as with every year passing, i am noticing changes to my face. This is why I encourage having a skincare routine too women of all ages. Even if your in your early 20's, as trust me it takes more time  to fill in the lines and dry skin later in life. I wish I had started earlier on to keep my skin healthier. 

Now whilst i haven't seen much difference to my face in terms of lines, I do like that its a really good as an aid to hydration. This doesn't sit on the skin and cause it not the breathe. It's a light, durable and most of all absorbs quickly. I only required 2 pumps to cover my whole face, which was very good as the warmth disperses it evenly. I wish other creams would do this and be value for money. The colour of the cream is a light peach/ orangy to the eye with a light citrus almost peach/tangerine scent. I love this scent its so subtle and not overwhelming. Very natural and pleasant to which I always had it in my bag for days I could feel my cheeks and eyes suffering, it also moisturises the hands very well when applying. 

I have noticed that the damage in my hands is getting better, as I have loads of "broken" veins from being stabbed by dr's needles for blood tests. Half a pump rubbed in just makes them more soft and also the skin less thin looking. So I'm happy the Omega 7 rich cream could help with healing naturally, its not a quick fix but its a lovely skincare item.

Also its fair-trade where the workers whom grow and pick this wonderful sea buckthorn earn during the harvest period. They maintain it as a sustainable resource which grows high in the mountains of Tibet. This fair trade relationship ensures the villagers safe working comditions and also offer fair wages. This money to which the whole family can work towards saving, ensures that the winter passes and has kept the next generation safe and healthy for the next harvest. It has been so successful that each harvest brings a bigger wage and more resources to the people in the Himalayan mountains.

Nima brushes - The Elite Collection 12 Piece set

Wow seems like we are now inundated with a real variety of brushes, when before we had barely any choice. So I was kindly sent for review this collection for Nima Brushes and I just want to say a huge thank you for the products.

They say

Now after years of supplying colleges and professionals it came to the stage where she wanted something to call her own and with the support and back up of a fantastic family, NIMA BRUSH was born! NIMA Brush specialise in brushes which are manufactured using the most natural fibres and strongest brush ferrules. This will ensure your brush not only lasts for you, but is of the highest professional grade.​

With that resume of experience in brush knowledge to some amazing brands. I hope that Nima brushes become more well known in the UK. Now I have tested many brushes I have purchased from the cheaper end (amazon set), affordable (Real Technique brushes, Furless) and now I want to try more higher end (Nima brushes, Sigma, MAC etc). As this 12 brush set costs €120 with a cylinder case included, (works out to £100 and £9 per brush) so I think that's amazing value. 

So the brushes hair varies (Goat:Contour, Taklon:Kabuki's/Crease, Sable:Large powder/Blush, Pony:Small shader/Pencil, Synthetic: White liner/Lip/Angled brow/Concealer ) there was only 3/4 hairs lost in the first wash on some face, then none lost whilst in use and since. Which is impressive, I wash my brushes with Johnsons or Dr bonner soap as its soft on skin plus helps keep the natural hair brushes soft. (Now that's my preference)

So you recieve 5 face brushes in this kit - L to R ( Contour/White Goat hair, Blush, Large powder, Kabuki round, Kabuki flat).

The presentation starts with the handle being a White glossy painted wood with the black logo writing of "Nima Brush". Sturdy plus comfortable in the hand. Offers confidence on use, as you feel you have control no matter where you hold the brush from.

 The white angled bristles look a little corse however there not, being natural hair maintaining this brush will keep it fabulous. They don't kick up too much product that can cause wastage, especially if expensive. Very soft and gentle on the skin too. The round kabuki is a brilliant tool to make Blush/Bronzer/highlights more natural with soft quick blending. The large powder brush picks up product well plus an even distribution as you set your foundation. Fits the contours of the face well with a sturdy handle to manoeuvre the product. The White angled brush offered a remarkable quality in that on the white bristles, high pigment products were easier to determine an amount due to seeing the product in the fibres. So excess could be buffered on the back of the hand before application, then that excess used on the other side. Very clever and impressive brush. I preferred this for applying blush and cheek items then used the Blush brush for more lighter items and natural makeup days. 

 The two stand-out brushes are the Kabuki brushes which are so soft and precise. Compared to my RT stipple I think the Nima is far superior quality, it is comfortable to use, blendability is second to none plus keeps shape better. My RT stipple is not as dense and now splaying already, its washed/stored the same as my others and this hasn't happened to them. (Cylinder on my makeup dresser) Its not even a year old and works out more expensive then the Nima brush. I know everyone loves RT but sometimes in every collection you will come across ones that let you down. This is just how I know Nima brush to be of professional quality as claimed.

( I do test brushes using high end, right down to affordable pigmented products that just need a little more time to blend.) 

Now the 7 Eye brushes you recieve are- Top L/R then bottom L/R ( Lip liner, Angled brow, Small shader, White haired liner, Pencil, Concealer ) 

 I would easily compare the brushes to the well known high end versions. They pick up product amazing and blend like a dream, also so soft. Now for a rundown on each brush which I will do in order of how I apply my detailing and eye work.

So I forgot to mention above I used the Concealer brush to tap on my choice of blemish magic remover as il call it. You'll notice this brush is flat and I prefer this as on application. It taps it gently in to the blemish, keeps your hands sterile and also can navigate areas like the nose very well and its just easier. I then used the small shader (applied primer firstly with my finger) to find this is amazing for packing on colour, now I tried this with every variant of eyeshadow available. It doesn't clog with cream based, any form of high glitter/pigments shadows.

Then distributed evenly and very little to no fallout as due to the small bristles, this brush can grab product tightly and then pack it on. So as it adheres to your primer being that it is shorter hair.

Next I used the below Crease blender  and the Pencil brush to blend out my shadows and define the crease. Perfect size to just build and add your colour and also to help transition your colours up towards the brow bone. The Crease blender is so soft and brilliant to make all the shadows work together. I found it a lovely brush and so multifunctional too. The pencil brush was just the right size to define the crease and also make a cut V in the corner. I didn't use my guiding tape to achieve that so I could see if this brush could guide me to do it by technique only and so far its been a real tool I can rely on to teach me this and feel confident. For my brows I used the small angled which is amazing, as the powder blended effortlessly with this brush. It gives a fine, precise brows and I was done in a second.

 I'm trying to find fault with each brush and these were so vigourusly tested like previous companies before. I can't seem to find any faults. So then i used the lip liner for my Gel/liquid liner as its so thin for detail and i usually use lipstick straight from the tube, again another fantastic mulitfunctional brush. The white haired liner is light weight, even product and distribution. I do use this for more detailed contouring on areas such as applying eyeshadow under eye, chin, nose, Cupid's bow etc as I find it worked better and was so soft. I didn't want to stain the white hairs with black and coloured items. So it's used with powder highlights, blush, bronzers and contour.

I just can't fault Nima brushes. The soft fibres and performance are just amazing, its been a pleasure to be introduced to this amazing Irish brand. I would not hesitate to purchase another set as the sheer quality is second to none. It makes application of makeup a pleasure and has a brush for every use plus can be used for multiple uses. Perfect for a beginner to use and get used to professional feel brushes. I also would buy more being a makeup enthusiast I use alot of brushes. I'm quite sanitary as I use more cream based products so I prefer to wash too sanitising and reusing. However I'm aware over washing a set of face brushes can damage them. So it's why I have multiple ones. I'd happily repurchase this set with a container to give my business to a Irish brand, as my aim is to support more close to home brands.

HD brows Kit - In foxy for brunettes

HD brows well known for its treatments at spas and salons to maintain eyebrow care. They released a selection of products but the one that is well known is the brow kit. Now I'm a brunette so the Foxy kit is my shades, they have kits for blondes and especially dark hair.

They say

‘Foxy’ is best for dark hair and skin.

So the kit is very impressive packaging being black with a gold embossed "HD brows" logo and the kit you have. So once opened the top of the compact has a paper and plastic covering to prevent scratches and damage. 

Now for a kit I am aware there are cheaper and more budget friendly kits, which I'm all for and have used for quite a while thinking "Brow kit, all the same thing... Right". Rarely do I admit I'm wrong and certain items I think, yes you need to spend more to get quality. I'm not rolling in money and save. Now honestly this is pigmented as brow powder in my opinion should be with all the blending for a natural effect. However the one thing (of a few) that made me go wow, was the lack of throw up from my angled brush. The brush in this kit is ok for a kit brush and I would use it, again another point. Unless I was out from morning till night I would not need too. My brows were on point for hours.

That's something I've not had in a brow kit, I've always had to touch up and yes they last ages as well you only need so much powder on a brow. 

I've tried powders, pens, pencils, tints and nothings I've felt comfortable with other then my brush and powder kit. This does retail at what some people perceive as expensive but honestly. The colour mix is more to my shade and I compared that alot of kits come reddish undertones

for brunettes. This doesn't and it was so natural everyone was like wow, before it was a 15 minute job to fluff and colour right to blend etc. Now not even 5 minutes, plus the tweezers included are I think amazing. Some women don't like sharp tweezers however I do as I get really small hairs just a few millimetres above my crease so they need to be a point for me to remove. They don't hurt and I've found it useful when you notice a hair to have a mini set and just remove it.

I'm so impressed with this kit. I would purchase this again. As its lasting power as well as just sheer value for the use you will receive is second to none. Amazing quality product if you cannot use HD Brows salon to hand.

Amie wipes - New bloom Gentle face wipes

Okay so wipes, guilty I'm a wipe hoarder. I will stock basic wipes for my makeup drawer to use during application and then use cotton with a cleanser and my clarisonic on those days. (Dont use my clarisonic daily).

 I was sent the Amie skincare wipes to try. Now I will say I've been so impressed with Amie I really do think its so undervalued as a brand. It's remarkable for sensitive skin and dry skin. Plus natural and that's the catch for me when I'm cleaning my skin I like to use natural, as it makes no sense to me to after using makeup which has agents in it to then use a non natural skincare.  I know not everyone shares that view but I used one product a whole back so steeped in alcohol I could smell it on opening and application it near off burnt my skin and I was lucky to remove it quick and inform the company of this. 

So these wipes are like a dream to me for makeup removal as they are a texture perfect to really get to every contour of the face. Also moist enough to clean without causing irritation to the eyes or make you feel your skins in need of some dry time. They smell amazing and I love pomegranate so I really do think its been the main factor as they are so fresh. Plus one wipe just gets every bit off and when you have 25 your aware of that fact. These are not your normal baby wipe they are intended for a purpose and a honestly savour these like its my brush hitting pan on a high end powder or foundation. Same feeling to me that wipes can be precious but when they feel so good I wish I could buy them in massive boxes like a baby wipe. As I would in a heartbeat trade cotton for these after a heavy makeup routine.

Now on looking I was expecting these to be in line with the competitors, Amie still amazes me that I actually think I could treat myself every couple of months to a few packs, and not be guilty for the spend.

HealGel - Eyes serum

Okay dokey, so I've had the most amazing opportunity to review HealGel and wow I just want to say a massive thank you to them. 

They say

HealGel Eye is an advanced corrective formula designed to condition and lift the delicate eye area.  HealGel Eye contains Arnica and Madecassoside which are suspended in liposomes with powerful peptides and biodynes to initiate a uniquely soothing and collagen boosting process.  Sluggish micro-circulation is stimulated and irritation is soothed.  In addition, HealGel Eye contains a duel action hyaluronic acid complex that locks moisture deeper into the skin and firms the eye contours.  The effect is to soften the appearance of fine lines, even skin tone and improve the elasticity of the skin through intense hydration.  Light diffusers in the gel further improves sallow areas for a brightening and smoothing effect. 

This serum is set for the eye area and its the same gel consistency and also slight smell of lavender to me but then disapates on absorption. It's quick absorbing, cooling and wow amazingly for a serum this actually works. (For me) 

Now I have the most unforgivable bags as I'm a insomniac and can't sleep so I have periods where my anaemia will knock me side wards then my insomnia will be like "no you shan't sleep", joys of womanhood right lol 

So to say I conceal within an inch of my faces life is the biggest statement of my life. This serum I read was to ease and also remove the trace or calm fine lines and just make me look human. All I wanted and expected. 

Now honestly my routines not changed and my eyes have, I've noticed I have not concealed as much over the period if time I have used the serum. I use it at night as a lovely cooler for my eyes as they dehydrate from lack of sleep and now its getting colder. So preventative measures. Also the morning this gives your eyes such a zing even if I've not slept it eases the hurt as insomnia fellowers will know the "eye hurt" come lunch. 

For me its worked, I still have one line that honestly we all have and unless its botoxed (never would I allow a needle in my face, needle phob lol) or I received a face lift in my house. Again not likely, this line is a age line and I can't turn the clock. My puffiness, finer lines etc have gone. I have one line which is not even worth concealing as my foundation is pretty much polyfiller so once that's on, I'm astounded. I actually out of the whole range was most interested and the most sceptical about as well all serums claim to work but this actually did. 

Which kinda is a major dampened on my concealer review lol but I'm sure they will be needed when this runs out as it goes very far. That's one thing I do love is its expensive but the product doesn't require you excessively pump and feel like you didn't get your monies worth. 

However it's not in my price bracket which with Christmas and winter coming I wish it was as well I would buy this in a heartbeat to set me for the cold months ahead. So dry skin sufferers if you get a chance to try HealGel then please do as its amazing and my skin is really loving it.
